Campus Activities Council (CAC) is the programming subset of Associated Student Government (ASG). Made of ten individual boards, we program many of the largest events on campus, including Family Weekend and Homecoming. Past events include Bill Cosby, Kid Cudi, Jay Leno, Backyard Bash, the Global Holiday Party, Charter Day Ball, and Outstanding Professor Awards.

Charter Day Ball

 

The Charter Day Ball is an event put on every 3 years to celebrate the chartering of Miami University in 1809. The Charter Day Ball is jointly organized by Program Board and Campus Activities Council and is attened by students, staff, alumni, and Oxford residents alike. The next Charter Day Ball will be held in February 2012.

Charter Day Ball is currently recruiting for its four boards: PR, Logistics, Entertainment, and Decorations. Complete this application and turn into 372 Shriver by Wednesday, January 19. Contact Matt Turk (turkmm@muohio.edu) or Tara Kilmer (killmetk@muohio.edu) for questions. 

 

Board Descriptions

 

Public Relations Board : This board is responsible for making sure that everyone knows exactly what Charter Day Ball is all about. Will work mostly on advertising the ball and putting on various events to raise excitement about the ball.

 

Logistics Board:  This board is responsible for making sure the entire event runs smoothly. They will be responsible for day of preparations and catering to the needs of the attendees. Will be working closely with other boards.

 

Entertainment Board: This board is responsible for finding entertainment for the event. This can include but is not limited to bands, DJ, etc. Will also be responsible for setting up activities outside the ball such as dance lessons for attendees.

 

Decoration Board: This board is responsible for creating the theme of the ball and executing that theme. Also responsible the complete transformation of Millet Hall for the ball.

 

*** Opportunities will also be presented to work with the Fundraising Committee and Alumni/Community Outreach Committee.
